Tena Koutou Welcome to NACEW

Our focus is on women and employment in New Zealand, advising the Minister of Labour, undertaking research and disseminating information to a broad audience as well as other initiatives related to our areas of interest.

Women have experienced significant progress in the workplace since NACEW was founded in 1967. Yet, women continue to face disadvantages in the labour market. NACEW’s vision of “a good deal on women and work” is reinforced by its mission to open as many doors as possible for women, in the world of quality work. To work towards this shared aim the Council has identified three priority areas in women’s employment: Work and Care, Quality of Work, and Maori and Pacific Women's Employment.
