Suzanne McNabb

Suzanne McNabb.

Suzanne McNabb is the National Women’s Officer (Education, Organising and Policy) for the Tertiary Education Union of New Zealand, Te Hautû Kahurangi o Aotearoa. She has been in this position for the past six years. Prior to this, Suzanne worked for the Association of University Staff at Lincoln University for more than seven years and concurrently worked as an adult educator and trainer for fifteen years, primarily involved in Treaty workshops. She also facilitated many workshops and seminars focused on employment rights, leadership development and skills for women.

Suzanne has had an active involvement in women’s employment and rights at work issues for many years. She is one of two representatives from the New Zealand Council of Trade Unions, representing specifically the public sector unions. She is Co-convenor of the CTU Women’s Council and a member of International Trade Union Confederation Asia-Pacific Women’s Committee.

Lynette Olsthoorn

Lynette Olsthoorn.

Lynette Olsthoorn is the NZNO representative at NZCTU Women’s Council. Lynette works for New Zealand Nurses Organisation (NZNO) having previously worked as a Registered Nurse. NZNO’s 46000 members work in many capacities in Private hospitals, Primary health , Aged and Disability care and District Health Boards.

Lynette’s role currently is Lead Organiser having had a number of roles in NZNO in the last 22 years. Lynette has worked for this period of time with a focus on improving professional and industrial workplace issues for the members of NZNO. Lynette is passionate about the role of unions in maintaining positive workplace relationships and working collaboratively to achieve outcomes that are not only good for the union members but also, ultimately for the consumers of services across the spectrum of health.
