Suzanne McNabb
Suzanne McNabb is the national Women’s Officer (Education, Organising and Policy) for the Tertiary Education Union of New Zealand, Te Hautû Kahurangi o Aotearoa. She has been in this position for the past two years. Prior to this, Suzanne worked as the Branch Organiser for the Association of University Staff at Lincoln University for over seven years and concurrently worked as an adult educator and trainer for over fifteen years, primarily involved in Treaty Workshops with Waitangi Associates Limited. Suzanne has had an active involvement in women’s employment and rights at work issues for many years. She is one of two representatives from the New Zealand Council of Trade Unions, representing specifically the public sector unions.
Annabel Snow
Annabel is currently working as an organiser for Finsec, the finance and information sector union. While based in the Wellington office she also covers the Wairarapa and Hawke’s Bay regions. After graduating from Auckland University in 2000 with a BA in political science and art history, Annabel worked in England in recruitment and adolescent mental health administration for the NHS. On her return home to NZ, Annabel took up a role as an Information Officer for the Department of Labour which prompted a move from Auckland to Wellington.
She has also worked for the National Distribution Union as an organiser representing retail, clothing and laundry workers – low paid sectors where women are overrepresented. Annabel attended the TWARO Asia-Pacific regional conference in 2008 as a NZ clothing union representative and was also on the Organising Committee for the CTU Women’s Conference in 2007.
